Mahasamund Collector Reviews State Festival Preparations, Paddy Procurement, and Key Development Projects in TL Meeting

Mahasamund. In a time-limit meeting held today at 10 a.m., Collector Vinay Kumar Langeh chaired a comprehensive review of the preparations for the upcoming State Festival, the paddy procurement process, and ongoing development programs across the district. The meeting was attended by District Panchayat CEO Hemant Nandanwar, Additional Collectors Sachin Bhutada and Ravi Kumar Sahu, Sub-Divisional Officers, District Department Heads, CMOs of urban bodies, and block-level officials via video conferencing.

Focus on State Festival Preparations

Collector Langeh emphasized inter-departmental coordination to ensure the successful organization of the State Festival, which will highlight 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s achievements. He directed departments such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, Fisheries, Industry, Women and Child Development, Public Health Engineering, Forest, Food, Labor, Transport, and Health to showcase flagship government schemes, successful projects, and developmental milestones through informative stalls.

Departments were instructed to finalize the outline of cultural programs, stage arrangements, and distribution materials promptly to make the event exemplary and memorable for citizens.

Paddy Procurement to Begin November 15

The Collector informed that paddy procurement at the minimum support price (MSP) will begin on November 15. Sixteen checkpoints have been set up across the district to prevent illegal transportation and inflow of paddy.

He instructed that all CCTV cameras at procurement centers must be functional and that monitoring teams conduct regular inspections following the 29-point checklist under the paddy procurement policy. Strict directions were given to tehsildars to seize vehicles involved in illegal transport and initiate immediate legal action.

The registration of farmers on the AgriStake portal must be completed by October 31, and officers responsible for Girdawari verification were ordered to verify all assigned Khasras within two days.

Progress Review of Development and Welfare Schemes

Collector Langeh also reviewed the progress of key welfare initiatives. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Gas Scheme, the district received 5,360 new approvals. The Food Department has been instructed to complete the gas connection allotment process within the next 15 days, based on applications submitted during the Good Governance Festival.

The Electricity Department was directed to encourage maximum beneficiaries to avail the benefits of ongoing schemes.

To ensure students are not deprived of educational benefits, the Education Department has been directed to organize Aadhaar ID creation camps. The District Education Officer confirmed that camps have already begun and that students are being informed in advance about the required documents.

Special Intensive Revision of Voter List Begins

Under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, Collector Langeh instructed all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to act as per Election Commission guidelines and the released schedule.

He announced that training sessions for the revision process have started across the state. The main objective is to ensure inclusion of all eligible voters and eliminate ineligible entries.

According to the official schedule:

  • Training: Till November 3, 2025
  • Door-to-door verification: November 4 to December 4, 2025
  • Publication of draft voter list: December 9, 2025
  • Claims and objections: Till January 8, 2026
  • Verification and hearings: Till January 31, 2026
  • Final voter list publication: February 7, 2026

Collector’s Directive for Timely Action

Collector Langeh reiterated that all departments must work in close coordination and adhere to the given timelines to ensure smooth implementation of government programs, transparent procurement operations, and efficient public service delivery.
