Raipur. In a decisive move against illegal mineral mining and transportation, the Korea district administration has intensified its crackdown operations. Acting on the strict instructions of Collector Korea, a joint team of the Mineral Department and the Revenue Department carried out a surprise inspection in Patna Tehsil, resulting in the seizure of three vehicles involved in illegal sand transportation.
According to officials, during a routine patrol operation, the team intercepted and detained three vehicles found transporting minor minerals (sand) without proper authorization. All vehicles were immediately seized on the spot and placed under custody at the Patna Police Station.
The seized vehicles include:
- Mini Truck (CG 16 CN 5852) owned by Jagdish Sahu
- Mini Truck (CG 12 AN 8294) owned by Mr. Amardeep
- Mahindra Tractor owned by Surendra Kumar Rajwade
Further legal proceedings have been initiated against the vehicle owners under Section 71 of the Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral Rules, 2015, and Sections 21 to 23 (b) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

Continuous Monitoring and Strict Action
Speaking on the action, the District Mineral Officer stated that, under the guidance of the Collector, the district administration is maintaining zero tolerance toward illegal mining activities. He added that regular inspections and surprise raids are being conducted to ensure strict compliance with mineral laws and to curb illegal excavation, transportation, and storage of minerals.
The officer emphasized that such stringent enforcement measures will continue in the coming days to protect natural resources and maintain environmental balance across the district.
