Raipur. “Only those who move forward with high spirits achieve success,” said Deputy Chief Minister and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Arun Sao while inaugurating the Inter-College Youth Festival at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU) in Raipur on October 29, 2025.

Addressing a gathering of 953 students from the university and its affiliated colleges, the Deputy CM encouraged youth to set their direction rather than limit themselves with a fixed destination. “The sky is open for you to fly,” he said, urging students to strive for excellence in life and career.

Three Days of Culture, Creativity, and Confidence

The three-day youth festival, running from October 29 to 31, is a celebration of youthful energy and talent. Students will compete in music, dance, literature, theatre, and fine arts, showcasing their creativity and spirit.

According to the organizers, this year’s event has drawn participation from across Chhattisgarh:

  • 177 students in music
  • 373 in dance
  • 82 in literary events
  • 107 in fine arts
  • 204 in theatre

Arun Sao encouraged participants to perform with enthusiasm, regardless of results. “Winning or losing doesn’t matter. What matters is the experience, learning, and confidence you gain,” he said, adding that such events help refine cultural and artistic skills while building self-confidence and team spirit.

PRSU: A Legacy of Excellence and Innovation

Vice Chancellor Professor Sachchidanand Shukla highlighted PRSU’s achievements and ongoing commitment to holistic education. He noted that the university earned an A+ grade in NAAC evaluation this August—an achievement that makes the entire state proud.

He emphasized that the university prioritizes academic excellence along with extracurricular growth. Following the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, internships have been made mandatory for all courses from the 2023–24 academic session.

To boost innovation and research, PRSU has launched 16 new job-oriented courses in the past two and a half years and established an Innovation and Incubation Center with state government support. During the same period, 32 university professors have secured research projects from various funding agencies.

“The students who win in this Inter-College Youth Festival will represent PRSU at the All India Inter-University Competition organized by the Association of Indian Universities,” said Prof. Shukla.

Celebrating Youth and Future Leaders

The event’s inaugural ceremony also featured addresses by Dean of Student Welfare and Festival Coordinator Professor Rajeev Chaudhary, Registrar Professor Amber Vyas, and other faculty members including Professor A.K. Srivastava and Dr. Sunil Kumeti.

Hundreds of students, faculty, and officials from PRSU and its affiliated colleges attended the opening ceremony, filling the campus with energy, enthusiasm, and pride.

This festival marks not just a cultural gathering but a celebration of youthful spirit, creativity, and leadership, reinforcing the message that with determination and high spirits, success is inevitable. The Inter-College Youth Festival 2025 at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University stands as a symbol of youth empowerment, talent, and innovation in Chhattisgarh. With the inspiring words of Deputy CM Arun Sao, the event encourages young minds to dream big, stay motivated, and move forward with unwavering confidence.
