Mahasamund. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision of Voter Lists 2025 across 12 states, including Chhattisgarh. Following the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Raipur, a review meeting was held at the Collectorate Hall in Mahasamund to discuss important dates and procedures related to the revision drive.
The meeting was chaired by Collector and District Election Officer Vinay Kumar Langeh, with representatives from major political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in attendance. Deputy District Election Officer Sachin Bhutada, District Public Relations Officer Poshan Kumar Sahu, and members of the print and electronic media were also present.
Collector Langeh informed that the voter list revision will be carried out strictly as per the Election Commission’s schedule. The objective of this special revision is to ensure that the voter list remains accurate, updated, and inclusive, giving every eligible citizen a chance to enroll.
As per the schedule:
- Training for BLOs will continue till November 3, 2025
- Door-to-door verification will be conducted from November 4 to December 4, 2025
- Draft voter list publication: December 9, 2025
- Claims and objections: Up to January 8, 2026
- Verification and hearing: Till January 31, 2026
- Final voter list publication: February 7, 2026
The Collector urged political parties to support Election Commission staff through their booth-level agents, ensuring that every eligible voter is included and the names of deceased or relocated individuals are removed.

He also highlighted the crucial role of the media in raising public awareness and ensuring transparent voter registration. Media representatives were requested to widely disseminate information about the voter list revision so that maximum citizens can participate in the democratic process.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will:
- Conduct door-to-door verification and visit each household at least three times
- Collect Form 6 and declaration forms for new voter inclusion
- Help voters fill the Electoral Form (EF) and submit it to the ERO/AERO
- Identify deceased voters, permanently relocated persons, and duplicate entries
- Assist urban voters and temporary migrants in completing the online EF process
No additional documents are required during the counting phase. The ERO/AERO will ensure that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible name is added to the electoral rolls.
The Collector concluded by emphasizing that this intensive revision drive is a major step toward achieving 100% voter registration and maintaining transparent and inclusive elections in Mahasamund district.
