New Delhi. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is scheduled to visit India in December, marking his second trip to the country this year. According to sources familiar with the matter, Nadella will participate in several artificial intelligence (AI)-focused events, meet government officials in New Delhi, and address Microsoft employees across various Indian cities.

During his visit, Nadella will attend high-profile AI conferences in Mumbai and Bengaluru, highlighting Microsoft’s growing commitment to India’s rapidly evolving tech ecosystem. The company, however, has not yet issued an official statement regarding his visit.

Nadella’s upcoming trip comes at a crucial time when the United States and India are navigating differences in trade and technology collaboration. The US administration’s tariff measures and India’s push for “Made in India” digital solutions have set the backdrop for this engagement.

Meanwhile, Indian tech firms like Zoho Corporation are emerging as competitive alternatives to global giants by offering affordable cloud-based software tailored for Indian businesses.

Earlier this year, in January, Nadella announced a $3 billion investment to advance AI infrastructure and research in India during his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The move underscored Microsoft’s strategic interest in India’s large and tech-savvy population.

India continues to attract massive investments from global technology companies. Recently, Google announced a $15 billion investment plan to establish a major AI data center in Andhra Pradesh and extend free premium AI tools to Indian students. Similarly, Microsoft-backed OpenAI has rolled out a free one-year subscription to ChatGPT Go for Indian users, reinforcing the country’s position as a fast-growing AI hub.

With Nadella’s upcoming visit, experts believe that India’s AI ecosystem is poised for a major transformation, fueled by both domestic innovation and global partnerships.
