Chhattisgarh Government Transfers ₹25.61 Crore to Over 79,000 Workers on State Foundation Day

Raipur. On the occasion of Chhattisgarh State Foundation Day and Silver Jubilee, the state government has announced a historic initiative in the interest of its labour community. Following the directions of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has transferred financial assistance of ₹25 crore 61 lakh 4 thousand 745 to the bank accounts of 79,175 registered workers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

This major step, implemented under the supervision of Labour Minister Lakhanlal Devangan and Board Chairman Dr. Rampratap Singh, symbolizes the government’s continued commitment to worker welfare. The amount was disbursed on November 1, 2025, coinciding with the State Foundation Day celebrations.

Assistance Under 16 Welfare Schemes

According to Labour Secretary and Labour Commissioner Himshikhar Gupta, the funds have been distributed under 16 major welfare schemes designed to support workers and their families.

Girish Ramteke, Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Board, detailed the scheme-wise distribution:

  • Didi-e Rickshaw Assistance Scheme: ₹15 lakh to 15 beneficiaries.
  • Uniform and Book Copy Assistance Scheme: ₹5 crore 49 lakh 5 thousand to 29,348 workers’ children.
  • Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana: ₹3 crore 88 lakh 98 thousand to 1,804 women workers.
  • Chief Minister Construction Labourer Safety Equipment Assistance Scheme: ₹63 lakh 19 thousand 500 to 4,213 workers.
  • Chief Minister Construction Labourer Death and Disability Assistance Scheme: ₹2 crore 48 lakh to 248 beneficiaries.
  • Chief Minister Noni Babu Meritorious Education Assistance Scheme: ₹57 lakh 96 thousand 972 to children of 725 workers.
  • Chief Minister Noni Empowerment Assistance Scheme: ₹5 crore 7 lakh 80 thousand to 2,539 workers.
  • Chief Minister Naunihal Scholarship Scheme: ₹6 crore 77 lakh 25 thousand 500 to children of 34,212 workers.
  • Chief Minister Labour Tool Assistance Scheme: ₹1 crore 54 lakh 42 thousand 367 to 4,471 workers.
  • Chief Minister Labour Sian Assistance Scheme: ₹5 lakh 56 thousand to 278 beneficiaries.
  • Chief Minister Bicycle Assistance Scheme: ₹52 lakh 8 thousand 206 to 1,406 workers.
  • Excellent Sports Promotion Scheme: ₹3 lakh 20 thousand to 19 beneficiaries.
  • Construction Workers Housing Assistance Scheme: ₹8 lakh to 8 beneficiaries.
  • Construction Workers Longevity Assistance Scheme: ₹1 lakh to 5 workers.
  • Sewing Machine Assistance Scheme: ₹23,700 to 3 workers.
  • Construction Workers Pension Assistance Scheme: ₹70,500 to 47 beneficiaries.

Government’s Commitment to Labour Welfare

Labour Minister Lakhanlal Devangan and Board Chairman Dr. Rampratap Singh expressed that the Chhattisgarh government remains steadfast in ensuring transparent and accessible welfare benefits for every registered worker.

They highlighted that this initiative during the State Foundation Day and Silver Jubilee Year stands as a symbol of the government’s compassion, dedication, and inclusive growth vision under Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai’s leadership.

A Step Towards Empowerment

Through this large-scale DBT initiative, the Chhattisgarh government aims to empower the state’s working class, uplift their families, and provide financial stability. The scheme ensures that benefits directly reach the rightful beneficiaries, eliminating middlemen and ensuring transparency.

The move reinforces the state’s vision of “Samriddh Chhattisgarh – Khushhaal Mazdoor” (Prosperous Chhattisgarh – Happy Workers), marking a new chapter in the welfare journey of the state’s labour force.
