Raipur. Chhattisgarh is all set to witness a historic moment on November 1, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly building in Nava Raipur. The grand event will coincide with the State Foundation Day, making it a double celebration for the people of Chhattisgarh.

Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Saw visited the new Assembly complex on Sunday to review the final preparations for the inauguration. During the inspection, he was accompanied by Forest and Climate Change Minister Kedar Kashyap.

The Deputy CM reviewed arrangements at key locations — including the site where a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be unveiled, the main Assembly hall, and the grand stage area.

Speaking to the media after the inspection, Deputy CM Arun Saw said, “November 1 will be a historic day for Chhattisgarh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate this new Assembly building to the people of the state. This magnificent structure is not just an architectural marvel but also a true reflection of our culture, heritage, and identity.”

The new Assembly building stands proudly on a 51-acre campus located behind the Secretariat (Mahanadi Bhawan) and Department Head Office (Indravati Bhawan) in Sector 19, Nava Raipur. Designed with a blend of modern architecture and traditional motifs, the building symbolizes Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural roots and its growing stature in India’s development landscape.

Deputy CM Saw emphasized that the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, which began its operations in 2000 at Rajkumar College, Raipur, is now entering a new era with this modern, state-of-the-art facility. “After 25 years, as we celebrate the Silver Jubilee of statehood, our Assembly will finally have a permanent home that represents our values and aspirations,” he added.

The building’s Assembly chamber is equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure and can be expanded to accommodate up to 200 members in the future. The facility is designed to support a paperless legislative process, integrating modern digital technologies to enhance efficiency, transparency, and sustainability.

Officials stated that every detail of the new complex has been planned to reflect both Chhattisgarh’s cultural ethos and the future vision of governance. From eco-friendly materials to energy-efficient systems, the Assembly represents the state’s commitment to progress while preserving tradition.

The inauguration ceremony on November 1 will mark a milestone not just in infrastructure development but also in the journey of Chhattisgarh’s democracy — blending heritage, innovation, and a vision for the future.
