Mahasamund. A dispute over selling a cow has erupted in Pilwapali village, sparking a fight between brothers. Based on separate reports, a case has been registered at the Basna police station and is under investigation.
Applicant Parikshit Khunte of Pilwapali told police that he was standing in front of his house at around 8 pm on October 28th when his elder brother, Dalim Khunte, abused him and assaulted him, accusing him of selling the cow. When his wife, Neelbai Khunte, and daughter, Ritu Khunte, tried to intervene, they were also assaulted.
Applicant Dalim Khunte of Pilwapali told police that he had returned home from work in Garhfuljhar at around 8 pm on October 28th. He then asked his younger brother, Parikshit Khunte, why he had sold the cow. When she said this, Parikshit said, “I’ve sold my cow, what do you care about it?” He then abused her and beat her with a wooden stick. In both cases, the accused have been charged under sections 115(2) and 296 of the BNS and are being investigated.
