Mahasamund. Singhoda police arrested three people involved in the illegal transportation of Ganja on a motorcycle. Four kilograms of ganja worth ₹60,000 was recovered from the accused.
According to information received, an informant reported that three people on a motorcycle were coming from Odisha towards Chhattisgarh carrying the illegal drug Ganjay. A blockade was subsequently set up near the village of Rehtikhol on NH 53 Road.
A short time later, three people arrived on a motorcycle bearing registration number CG 25 M 6636. When stopped and questioned, the motorcycle rider revealed his name as Aniket Singh, son of Hemant Singh (22 years), Ward No. 16, Khetrajapur Police Station, Khetrajapur District, Sambalpur, Odisha. The person sitting in the middle revealed his name as Alok Katlam, son of Ramesh Katlam (35 years), Ward No. 63, Risali Sector, Bhilai Police Station, Newai District, Durg, Chhattisgarh, The person sitting behind revealed his name as Harish Kumar Sahu, son of Aniruddh Sahu (32 years), Ward No. 15, BRP Chowk, Mauhari Maroda, Police Station, Mewai, District, Durg, Chhattisgarh. The accused also stated that the bag contained ganja.
Police seized four kilograms of ganja worth ₹60,000, a Hero Splendor Plus bike worth ₹70,000, and a mobile phone from the accused. Action was taken against the accused under Section 20(b) of the Narcotics Act.
